A century and a half ofone wine.

1880s
Act I · Roots

A vine planted in Samegrelo.

The Tchanturia family begins cultivating Ojaleshi on the steep, mineral-rich slopes of Samegrelo in Western Georgia. Wine is fermented and aged in qvevri — clay vessels buried below the cellar floor — exactly as it had been for eight thousand years.

Tchanturia Ojaleshi is sent to the Exposition Universelle in Paris and returns with a gold medal, joining a small handful of Georgian wines recognised by Europe before the First World War.

Why It Stands Out

Four things youcannot fake.

No mass production, no industrial shortcuts, no marketing surrogates for substance. Only what the soil, the vessel, and the family give.

N° 01Origin

Indigenous Ojaleshi grape, Samegrelo soil.

Ojaleshi grows on a single hillside in Western Georgia. The varietal does not exist anywhere else in the world. The soil is mineral, the slope is steep, the yields are small.

N° 02Vessel

Fermented and aged in qvevri.

Clay vessels buried below the cellar floor. Eight thousand years of unbroken method. The wine breathes through the earth itself — no oak, no steel, no shortcuts.

N° 03Hand

Picked, fermented, bottled by family.

No outside labour, no industrial line. Every step from harvest to label is performed by five members of the Tchanturia family. The wine carries their fingerprints, literally.

N° 04Quantity

Six hundred bottles per vintage.

We do not scale. We do not contract grapes. What the vineyard gives in a given year is what is bottled — sometimes less, never more. Each bottle is signed and numbered.
